  • Overview

    Associate will act as a liaison between the plant, the sales team and customer service. Associate is responsible for coordinating shipments, processing paperwork, and interfacing with the corporate customer service group, sales and occasionally customers as required.  Provide assistance to visitors and/or truck drivers. Associate will process customer orders on their requested due dates.  Accurately prepare end of the day shipping reports and forward to appropriate personnel.      


    Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries.


    Verify all documents for accuracy and promptness and take appropriate action should issues arise. Expedite by pick-releasing orders ahead of ship date to eliminate delays.


    Prepare orders for shipping by assigning deliveries, performing load maintenance, pick releasing orders, printing shipping labels, ship confirming, packing, and creating bills of lading.


    Highlight or stamp special instructions on specified customer orders as needed.


    Perform change add requests as directed by supervisor.


    Prepare the Daily Shipment, Daily Back Order, and On-Time end of the day reports and others as needed. Distribute appropriately.


    Maintain complete and accurate files on pertinent shipping data.


    Answer telephone system and direct calls accordingly. Communicate taking and delivering messages, contacting freight carriers, and advising supervisor(s) of any potential issues.


    Operate listed office machines as required.


    Interface with Corporate Customer Service Group regarding order shipments, receipts and shipping discrepancies.


    Coordinate trailer availability. Determine carriers using the Best Transport tendering process. 


    Work closely with departmental supervisor on priorities to eliminate obstacles that would prevent product in getting to the customer in a timely manner. Provide support as needed to ensure 100% accuracy and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for quality, productivity and safety in all given assignments.  


    Advise departmental supervisor when caught up to assist in other areas as needed.



    High School Graduate/GED.  Advanced degree preferred.


    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  Maintaining and operating computer database programs and spreadsheets. Proven work history in demonstrating a systematic approach in carrying out work assignments.


    Must be able to read, write and be proficient in math as job duties require.


    Must possess a high level of leadership, common sense, positive attitude, organizational skills, above average oral and written communication skills and demonstrate the Basic Principles when working with people.  Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player and demonstrate a strong desire to get the job done, excellent attendance record.
