We are seeking a mold technician for our injection molding facility in Gaffney, SC. This position will be on our 2nd shift.
This position performs as machine and plastic process troubleshooter. Associate follows established standard work procedures with the duties of installing molds, setting up processes, setting up secondary equipment, producing and submitting for quality inspection first piece parts that meet or exceed customer expectations. Employee reports abnormalities in scrap and works with the plant Engineer to determine workable solutions. Associate ensures safety of people and materials by following Company guidelines on operation of motorized equipment. Position may also assist supervisor with other duties such as grinding, material changeovers, operating presses, material handling duties and other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Graduate/GED.
Experience: Three years previous experience mold setting/technician experience.
Knowledge: Must be able to read, write and be able to perform basic math skills as job duties require. Must be capable of scoring 50 or better on Technician assessment quiz. Most possess practical knowledge of injection molding presses and all plastic materials and resins. Must possess mechanical ability and knowledge of mold design and layout (mold venting and cooling systems).
Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Must demonstrate common sense, positive attitude, excellent attendance. Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player. Must have good communication skills and the ability to interact with people. Must be detail oriented with ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Must be able to move in and out of the presses, climb ladders.
Working Conditions: Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking. Extreme weather conditions, and conflicts over acceptable product quality possible.
Equipment/Tools Used: Required personal protective equipment, ladder, basic hand tools, forklift.
