    This front-line leadership position plays a key role that leads logistic operators through the day-to-day operations of warehouse delivery. Using lean warehousing and problem-solving skills the Team Lead drives daily improvements and logistics team engagement to achieve performance goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The Warehouse Team Lead is an important part of making our plant a special place to work and delivering the world’s best windows.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Train and provide feedback to associates on all aspects of warehouse/shop roles, including: new hires, cross-training, safety practices and procedures, quality requirements, standard work, etc.
    • Conduct audits to ensure standards are maintained.       This includes, but not limited to: safety, finished goods quality, scrap and standard work audits.
    • Keep our team members safe. Proactively prevent injuries. Use problem solving tools and collaborate with team members to eliminate safety issues. Follow and enforce all safety procedures according to the standards.
    • Follow and improve our logistics systems and standard work to create high customer on-time delivery.
    • Identify process constraints and use our lean management system to improve product flow and inventory accuracy.    
    • Maintain Tier I/Front Line Management visual management tools (PVA, run charts, focus boards, and other tools) to drive continuous improvement.
    • Use the systems to deliver our customer windows complete and on-time.
    • Participate in projects, Kaizens, and other continuous improvement activities. Proficiently use problem solving tools and methodologies such as 5 Why, PDCA, and focus boards.
    • Lead approximately 15 logistics associates as direct reports.
    • Lead stand-up meetings and perform shift changeover.
    • Train and certify forklift operators.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of supervisory/leadership experience is required in manufacturing or equivalent industry and/or candidates with a degree and equivalent project experience. Entry-level supply chain individuals are encouraged to apply.
    • Strong skills in the areas of communication (written/verbal), time management, and problem solving.
    • Ability to learn product, process, and equipment.
    • Ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate logistics employees.
    • Ability to make sound decisions and delegate appropriately.
    • Working knowledge of computer systems – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and warehouse management systems.
    • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
    • Bilingual in Spanish, Creole, Hindi or Gujarati is a plus, but not required.
    • Lean certification or logistics experience is a plus, but not required.

     

     

    Shift Hours:

    • 3rd Shift – Sunday night through Thursday morning 10PM - 7:30AM
