Overview

Team Lead Receiving is responsible for coordinating deliveries and shipments, processing paperwork. Must be flexible to ever changing priorities to accommodate customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of associates engaged in materials supporting production, verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing (as assigned) shipments: manages documentation and other records to determine materials priorities and work assignments required to meet schedules, utilizing knowledge of receiving and materials procedures, both hard copy (paper) documentation and electronic (system) transactions.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing Receiving Department activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of materials.
  • Supervises and manages Cycle Count program for all materials, as well as physical inventory conducted periodically for assigned materials.
  • Coordinates and records scrap programs, including vinyl, metals and corrugate.
  • Directs movement of materials from receiving docks to storage and work areas, and storage to line support, including Glass Dock.
  • Prepares bills of lading and any required U.S. Customs documentation.
  • Synchronizes incoming inspection procedures with Quality Department.
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
  • May assist workers in receiving and materials activities.
  • Oversee PAIIIs for all positions and develop their skills for future Team Leader positions.
  • Work through PAIIIs to ensure Associates are well-trained and cross-trained.
  • Drive Operational Line Metrics (Safety, Efficiency, 5S, Quality, Schedule Adherence, Production Line Support)
  • Drive cleanliness and organization through strict adherence to 5S.
  • Problem solves with follow-up to root cause analysis.
  • Conduct various Line Process and 5S Audits.
  • Identify and drive key department improvement action plans.

Qualifications

Education:           High School Graduate/GED. Advanced degree preferred.

 

Experience:         Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Maintaining and operating computer database programs and spreadsheets. Proven work history in demonstrating a systematic approach in carrying out work assignments.

 

Knowledge: Must be able to read, write and be proficient in math as job duties require. Must possess a thorough understanding of the Company’s Safety policies and procedures and perform complex operations with accuracy.

 

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Must possess a high level of leadership, common sense, positive attitude, organizational skills, above average oral and written communication skills, and excellent attendance. Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player and demonstrate a strong desire to get the job done. Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift 50 pounds maximum. Must be able to handle the movement of products and the changing of priorities to satisfy customer demands.

 

Working Conditions: Manufacturing environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust. Position requires continual lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking.

 

Equipment/Tools Used: Required personal protective equipment and computer.

Safety: Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times. Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate’s performance appraisal.
